Hey, me and the wife were there a couple of weeks ago to watch the
Stennis come in. They parked it right next to the Reagan. Pretty
damned impressive, IMHO.
Oh, and the traffic reminded me why I don't live in SoCal anymore.
Took us from 4am until 9:30am to make it from Apple Valley to
Coronado, with only a 1/2 hour stop for breakfast along the way.

Re: Rear tow hook location
This might be too glib by half, but I think it gives the proper flavor:
"All behavior that I don't like should be restricted by law, and all
citizens shall be bound by the law. Except, of course, for me." I think
it works equally well from the left and the right.
OBOnTopicJeepStuff: I parked by `79 CJ-5 in a warehouse 20 miles from
home on Friday, put some Stabil-fuel stuff in the tank, disconnected the
battery and pulled a dust cover over it. My cost is $75/month. I suppose
that I should feel guilty -- less guilty than if I had trailered it there,
but guilty none the less. But really I wanted to free up a bay here so I
could park my Cherokee in the garage and make it easier to shovel off the
driveway when it snows. And after putting 2 1/2 years into rebuilding
that CJ, I'm loath to have it smacked in an intersection after a snow
storm by some cell phone-chewing uninsured twerp skiding a minivan with
bald tires and too many dangling shiny things hanging from the rear view
mirror.

Some conditions apply. YMMV. This message was packed by weight, not
by volume. TWIAVBP, local variation may occur. Dramatization, not a real
authority. Do not induce vomiting. No user-serviceable words inside.

That sounds like the revisionist history Disneyland enacted on their
'Pirates of the Caribbean ride when the pirates portrayed therein
began chasing women carrying platters of food (out of hunger?) instead
of the previous fair maidens (apparently, and probably historically
correct, in lust). What good is history if it is presented
incorrectly.

Re: Rear tow hook location
I grew up in Del Mar, and still have good friends there, it's only
eighteen miles from my home in Vista to visit them, but it's just not
worth visiting them. From Carlsbad down it's stop and go, any time
Friday through the weekend.
