And a newsreader that supports scoring will eliminate all of that, I
don't see much if any of the garbage on this or any other newsgroup.

Unfortunately many newsreaders don't have much in the way of filtering
or scoring so those folks are stuck with the garbage unless they chose
to download and configure something like Hamster or some other local
server to do the filtering for them.

Personal Opinion:
I prefer to use a newsreader that does my filtering rather than
configure another layer such as Hamster. Xnews works just fine for me.

That apparently has happened in a lot of groups. Seems like a bot that
grabs valid names and uses them to cross-post a nonesense series of bible
