Hi, Dave.
It's easy to reassemble the carb with the plate backwards or
upsidedown. I did that myself recently after cleaning out the idle
tubes. I'll probably look at mine tomorrow. So, I'll reply here
afterwards.
Meanwhile, you might try flipping it around the other way if it's not
working properly for you now.
