Re-attaching upper door skins!?
Soooo.....I finally went down to a company that does nothing but make
boat covers and boat tops. Talked to them about replacing the zippers on
both the half door windows and the rear window of the soft-top (side
windows are still really good).
They'll put in new zippers that are like 4 times the size of the
factory zippers for Cdn $400 (Replacement factory softop is $1300). The
ony catch is that I have to remove the doors window skins from the
frames. Removing the softop from its frame is no problem. Just the
window skins are the issue.
Now I normally wouldn't have a problem with this but how much of a
problem is it going to be to get them re-attached? Cutting the stiching
to take them off is easy!
Anyone ever done this?
How do the Bestop replacement skins go on? Snaps? Velcro?
