I already sold the 258 along with the pump. I am wishing I would have kept
it now. Not just for parts, but also I just found a perfect cj7 that needs a
motor for only $1200. If I still had that 258, I could drop it in a turn a
good profit - or better yet have another jeep to drive!

You think I should just get a new pump for the 81 jeep? Would it most likelt
fit with the bracket I have on the 304? Are they all pretty much the same
except for fittings?

The pump on the 304 has a deep hole and the threads look to be around 5/8" -
the fitting on my hose from the 258 is much smaller and looks to be about
3/8"? Can I just adapt the fitting on the pump with parts from the hardware
store?

The pump on the 304 has a deep hole and the threads look to be around 5/8" -

I don't think that fitting is at the local auto parts store, most likely
dealer or bone yard.
