Outside mirror removal
Anyone every take the outside rear view mirror off a 2004 wrangler sport? I'm
thinking about trying to tighten the mirror up to elimenate a small vibration
blurr. Do the bolts just thread into the hinge or are there nuts on the end
that will fall into the door when the mirror is removed. The shop manual just
says to remove the bolts and mirror from the hinge but seems like there is
always a wrinkle to mess up a seemingly easy job. Thanks for any help.

Re: Outside mirror removal
It's threaded into the hinge, no back plate, like the hinge it's
self. You'll find everything is torqued just a little too much for the
screwdriver or torx wrench to unscrew before slipping. Shoot it with
WD-40 and use impact driver: http://www.----------.com/impactDriver.jpg

Re: Outside mirror removal
They are just simple torx headed bolts.
