My suggestion of the MP3 is so that you could take it with you. It would
be non permanent. If you want a more "installed" setup, you could use an
in-dash, or experiment a little. The only output on most MP3 players is
the headphone/earphone out. That isn't enough to drive a set of speakers
without some sort of amplification. If the speakers were self powered,
you might be able to do that. Some CD players have a speaker out or LINE
out.
In our Jeeps, we could run the headphone out of the MP3 player into the
CD (AUX) input on our stereos. Headphone is not quite LINE level, but it
will get you close enough to play it. I imagine it would not have the
full volume of the radio or CD player tho. There are companies that make
adapters for that very thing and will bring the earphone LVL up to LINE.

Argo and other 6-8 wheeled ATV capabilities was Re: OT wifey amazes me AGAIN

Well most ATV's and the Argo is an ATV don't need a real trail.
But they need it to be clear of lots of vertical trees. :)
That shurb brush can rip you up pretty good.

Looks a bit iffy on the depth you have to the top of the damn there is
a nautical term for it and it slips my mind! Anyway you don't have a
lot of room before water comes in and you need a bilge pump.
They send me the catalogs every couple of months and while it can
cross dead water. Anything amounting to chop would be scary.

Well what I really meant was it does not look like it has a lot of
articulation in the wheels to go up and over some of the rougher
stuff.
To me it basically looks like a variant of the M29 weasel which was
also amphibious but the Weasel had a problem in that while it could
chew through stuff that would kill a jeep it has metal tracks and was
a pain to drive with a 3 spd manual studebaker tranny.
I'd love to seea video of you putting it through it's paces. I won't
ever be able to ride a Quad agaid so the Rhino is looking mighty good
and I'll be interested to see what Nathan says about it's
capabilities.
The Argo's can only go 24 mph or so. I guess there is another company
out there that makes a similar ATV to the Argo but it has up to 8
driving wheels and is amphibious.

I wonder how well those tracks would actually work since they stay on
all the time. It might climb hills a bit better with tracks.

Quads are fast and it would be nice if they could double the speed on
the Argo. But the ground clearace is low with little articulation. So
big rocks are out but being amphibious is an asset if you have to go
through standing water. I wonder how well it will pull itself through
real Mud tho.
Dealers never let you actually play with one.
Is teh only reason the Quad can't make it up to you camp is because of
deep standing water?
I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I just am curious since my
quad riding days are over and I'd like to find smething fun. Speed is
good too tho.

deep standing water?
I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I just am curious since my
quad riding days are over and I'd like to find smething fun. Speed is
good too tho.

ive met a few argo and argo type rigs on the trail in 6x6 and even 8x8
configurations. theyre a great all around machine, but my experience with
them has left me with the impression that they arent at home in rocks. im
not talking about crossing a rock here and there, im talking about in more
aggressive areas like daniel at uwharrie, or anywhere at tellico. while you
can make it go, it seems to require far more effort than i would want to put
into it. skid steer just is not effective in off camber rocky situations.
or maybe it was just those particular riders.
> I guarantee that a Jeep or Quad cannot follow me up at the hunt camp.
you talking 4x4 quads? unless youre referencing floatation......
