You are correct. You need to have a lockable gun cabinet with a separate
locked sections for firearm and ammunition.

The law unforunately is hazy on whether or not you can use it to defend your
home. Or rather the law is very clear - you can use reasonable force. Quite
what reasonable force is is anyones guess. Shooting some little bastard in
the back and killing him as he flees is not, much to the indignation of the

I woudn't want to be on the receiving end of one of Mr Remingtons 12 bore
rifled slugs - 1 oz travelling at 1760 fps has got to smart a little, at
nearly 3000 ft/pounds. Doubtless so inaccurate that you couldn't hit a barn
door with one at100 yards, but hey.
