Re: OT--Selling cars on Internet
Maybe if our troops had that kind of reputation we would do better in the
Policeman of the World role. However, I don't think that the peacekeeper's
role is exactly "to adequately or effectively respond with overwhelming
superior firepower". Serbs and Bosnians that I have met, tell me that the
conflicts in that region are very old, and that you can't force peace on
people who don't want it. Is the region really pacified yet? I don't know,
but it will be interesting to see what happens, if and when all the
peacekeepers leave. Former sheriff from here, is over there making six
figures, enjoying his young Bosnian wife, and raising a second family. It
worked out for some.

Re: OT--Selling cars on Internet
I don't specifically remember making any claims about that theatre. I do
remember at the time that it was going on, feeling somewhat annoyed that the
Germans and others in Central Europe let us take the lead role in it. Or
perhaps I am thinking about the Kosovo spat. Why do we keep getting
involved in situations, that we don't wind up fixing?
People have been killing and "cleansing" each other for millennia. Three
days no doubt makes you an expert on the subject, much like Nathan and his
reports of lupine atrocities. That is why we have historians and wildlife
biologists.

involved in situations, that we don't wind up fixing?
People have been killing and "cleansing" each other for millennia. Three
days no doubt makes you an expert on the subject, much like Nathan and his
reports of lupine atrocities. That is why we have historians and wildlife
biologists.

Re: OT--Selling cars on Internet
Heh, Craigs List warns people to only buy locally, and the three closest
sites are all at least six hours from here. I found the fraud alerts
extremely helpful though.
Here's some ad copy and a few pictures, if anyone is interested. We have
decided to let the locals look at it for a few days. And Mrs. Horton says,
"Why don't you post it on that worthless Jeep news group you read all the
time?"
