I talked to veterans and refugees from both wars, when I was in the Seattle
area. Lots of Bosnians and Serbs used the problems of their country, as an
opportunity to immigrate to ours. My current neighbor, who is a Viet Nam
"Conflict" veteran, reads books on the subject. This proves that no one
person, even if "you were there", can know everything, and that one of them
even admits it. I am hearing the same story from veterans of the first Gulf
War now. "We were fooled", but somehow they deserve credit for their
"sacrifices". I on the other hand am not demanding "credit", for
recognizing danger and refusing to make worthless sacrifices for even more
worthless politicians. Now if I had actually done something, I suppose I
would be making a ------ style grand announcement about it.

I got an email from a high school classmate a few years ago. When the first
Gulf War broke out, she wanted to vindicate her life or something, and so
enlisted, even though she was over forty. She claimed to have achieved some
sense of closure, or something, related to the Viet Nam era, by serving in
the Gulf War. It takes all kinds.

The wolf question will be decided in Washington, DC, like everything else.
If Nathan and his poacher friends are the only witnesses on the anti-wolf
side, I expect that Montana will be overrun with the demon-eyed,
razor-toothed, slavering sadistic creatures in a decade or so. "Welcome to
Montana National Park. No firearms allowed."
