You might have to sign up. Be sure to click the selection that says you
don't want e-mails or you will get daily ads concerning photo reprints.
Towards the end I have some photos of the WJ getting the oil/filter changed
after the trip. I did not bother with jackstands, I just used a convenient
retaining wall in my driveway.
The synthetic blend oil on the white rag off the drain plug has 2744 miles
on it. It does not oxidize and breakdown like straight dino oil.

I did see fresh BFG tracks so I suspected you were nearby. I did honk
several times in series of three, perhaps you were relaxing at the time.
I also had that French radio station playing on the car radio and I had a
campfire in the stone ring all evening.
Of course the woods are so think we could have missed each other by 10 feet.

Oh, this explains it, you came through Detroit. I fully understand now,
having been through the wringer at the Ambassodor Bridge several times. I
agree, the Canadian agents are fantastic. Next time you might try coming
through Port Huron/Sarnia, the US agents there are better.
One of my kid's friend's dad is a Customs officer with the K-9 unit at
Detroit. He's actually a pretty nice guy. I'm sure you never saw him, unless
your agent decided you were smuggling pot as well...

For sake of clarity, crossing at Sarnia/Port Huron looks out-of-the-way but
is actually very close in time and milage as crossing at the Ambassodor
Bridge in Detroit.
I've also found the Tunnel to be a breeze... I've passed through on several
occasions with just a nod.
