Re: OT -- Ford Question, Check Engine Light
Hi Matt,
Well, no fuel, no pollution. But I was very surprised being an old
racer like me, he could bare to drive around on seven cylinders! He
still maintains a couple of high performance engines, a 426" Hemi and a
406" in a '55 and '31 pickups:

mid fifties of him starting for the first time our dreams of driving a

No, the scan tool only has a blinking light and a buzzer that can be
switched off -- the buzzer operats in tandem with the light, so one can
count the buzzes instead of the flashes.
Once the code is known, there is an extensive list of codes to look through.

Re: OT -- Ford Question, Check Engine Light
inspect the wiring from the sensor to the connector any breaks in those wires
and the sensor is bad also see if the outer case spins on the sensor if it does
it going bad
if you have a dvom there is 3-4 wires on it. one is a ground. one is a heater
wire that will measure near 12 volts esp with cold engine and the other 2 are
sensor and sensor return signal wires, easy to figure out even with out a manual
as long as u have a dvom
also clean the mass airflow filament with carb cleaner but be careful they are
very delicate i do mine every 10k
