I think you're remembering something better in the "good old days"
I sold Atlas from '63 to '86 minus a couple for the ARMY, and I did buy
factory seconds, but still couldn't have bought one, even a 600X13 for
twenty, but I do remember storing one of those long batteries for a
Corvair that I would have given away if I could have found someone to
take it.

Well look again. This Documentary is about the '64 Thunderbolt,
showing film of it's competition and you can see not even the 78 series
ratio tire, like used on the red line tires of the '65 Mustang and GTO
are seen on the '64 Super Stocks:

showing film of it's competition and you can see not even the 78 series
ratio tire, like used on the red line tires of the '65 Mustang and GTO
are seen on the '64 Super Stocks:
