Oregon Dunes, beach driving in OR

Re: Oregon Dunes, beach driving in OR
And be quite knowledgeable about local tidal schedules. Nothing like
watching the water slowly head for your tires as you try to get
either a tow or enough stuff under them to get a bit of forward
motion again....the good news is that the wetting from the incoming
tide can help you get out. The bad news is if you don't follow
Ed's advice and have buried yourself in the sand.

Re: Oregon Dunes, beach driving in OR
Air down to 25 psi??? That little amount of airing down will not do
much good at all. To effectively increase the footprint of the tire,
you need to get the air pressure down into the low or maybe the mid
teens... which is not airing down too much at all. Remember to let the
sand slow you down and stop you, using the brakes to stop on sand will
usually cause a berm to form in front of your tires which makes getting
started again a dicey thing.

much good at all.
