Opinions on the Wrangle 4-speed
OK, it's been a year or so since the 4-speed automatic came out --
anybody who's got one have opinions good or bad? Was wondering if the
4-speed is any better on the highway than my 3000-RPM-@-60MPH 02 TJ
is.
I'm thinking about tradin' in my TJ Sport just to get the upgraded
auto...
....though if I'm tradin' in, I might as well get one of those
Rubicons.

i have the rubicon with the 4-speed auto. personnally, i don't think an
auto has any place in a jeep. but! this is my wife's vehicle. it's her
daily driver and she told me that if she wanted to row a boat to work, well,
she'd just buy a boat!
it's been a little while since i drove this thing on the highway, but i am
remembering (incorrectly?) that it turns about 2800rpm at 60 or so. this
thing shifts SO soft that i doubt it will live past 35000 miles. it drops
into overdrive between 40 and 45 mph. it definitely makes that Six grunt.
as we say 'in the business' - crank it up and let the big dog eat! 8~)>
the auto makes burnouts on the street a real breeze...
