You rent a truck, you overload it with everything you own, you find out
it has a bad engine and 'no' brakes and yet you and your kid go merrily
on your way across the country going way too fast and 'clinching your
-------' down the grades. (legally you had no brakes if you can't stop
the truck in 1st gear, that also leads to going too fast for the
equipment too.)

There are no words to describe you. A sane person would have turned
back to the nearest town with a rental outlet and camped in their
parking lot until a replacement truck showed up.

the mandatory weigh stations in north dakota with the GVWR clearly painted
