oil pressure sending unit on jeep 304
Can someone send me a picture of where the oil pressure sending unit is
located on a 304? I just bought a new unit today and the only place I can
see it might fit is right behind the oil filter. The problem is 1) the
filter is in the way 2) the threaded hole in my block is a different pitch
than the threads on the unit. Also there are 2 holes right behind my oil
filter, one is larger than the other. Do I need a 90 degree fitting or
something to adapt the unit?

Yes removing the oil filter gives you better access to the oil pressure
sending unit.
I am not sure if you have two devices on an adapter, an oil pressure switch
and an oil pressure sending unit. Switch might be for the choke on the carb
and should have two terminals on it.
Are you building an engine from scratch or replacing some parts? Oil
sending unit threads should match???

Re: oil pressure sending unit on jeep 304
I'm building the engine from scratch. It is a 304 out of a 76 cj7. It has
nothing on the block but 2 threaded holes behind the oil filter. I'll post
some pics and link them tomorrow. The oil sending unit from the part store
for that jeep will not fit in either hole.
