NV3550 problem
Hi All, has anyone heard of a synch. problem with the NV3550? I thought I
was having issues with the throwout bearing making noise, but after
replacing it the same noise occurs. It usually happens while the clutch is
depressed and I am switching for first to second or second to third gear. I
figured it was the throwout bearing making the noise, but a mechanic has
told me it is the synchros making the noise. This is the Advanced adapters
conversion that replaced the BA-10 in an 89 YJ. The built date on the
Transmission is 09-2002. Anyone have any noise from their NV3550?
Thanks a bunch for any and all replies!

Re: NV3550 problem
If it sounds like someone dumped a bunch of marbles in your tranny, then
yes, it seems to be rather normal. Does it make a similar noise which in
neutral with the clutch pedal off the floor?

Re: NV3550 problem
The noise is standard from the factory as well. Be sure you are using the
correct fluid, though, the 3550 doesn't take regular 80w90 gear oil.

Re: NV3550 problem
I'd be surprised to hear of one that doesn't!
