Re: Newbie top question
Nice going! My two cents is that I agree with Nicole and have stayed away
from other top configurations for my TJ. I've had them in the past (didn't
last too long)and for this Jeep I just keep the stock top.
The windshield header is necessary in order to attach the bikini top over
the windshield. Older Jeeps had this header and that was how the top was
held on. You can get a NO drill header that bolts on but you will have to
remove it every time you want to put your soft top up, I believe. Pain.
I use a neat product called the Window Roll and it holds my soft top windows
with my top up or down. My buddy holds his windows in his roll all Winter
when his hard top is on. Google search
http://www.google.com/custom?q=jeep+...fb2aa9e174c%3B
Good luck but if your wife insists on a bikini go for it! And I should be
so lucky too.

I have a 98 Sahara and a Safari bikini top (the one that covers the
back seats also) with the "no-drill" header. The header is easy to
put on and take off in about 5 minutes. The no drill header attaches
in the holes where the hard top clamps on to the windshield. Overall,
I'm happy with the header and the top.

I can't believe no one has posted this yet....
Skipper, you can slide the visors off the rods they hang on and swap them
left for right... At least that way you don't hafta see the warnings all the
time.
Congrats and welcome to the group. (hang on tight)
