Mold on Soft-top
Hey all. I have a soft-top from my '98 TJ. The garage I was storing it
in sprung a leak in the roof right over the top. Now it's moldy/mildewy.
Is there anything I can use on it to get rid of this stuff or do I just
have to start over and buy a new one? This sux! TIA.

Re: Mold on Soft-top
I had the same thing appen to my CJ soft top. I hate to break the news but
there isn't much you can do. Scrub it real good with bleach solution but be
careful, if it's too strong it will attack the threads that hold the roof
together. That's the voice of experience talking. Try some of the marine
products designed for mold. It's worth a shot but don't expect great
results. I still have my top and the mold spots have faded from both
cleaning and the sun. I also can hand stitch soft top seams too!... :)

Re: Mold on Soft-top
(Line up the firing squad- here' goes)
I would try lysol floor cleaner mixed to about half-strenth (half
potentcy of what they say on the directions) and a soft bristle brush
with lots and lots and lots of fresh water after.
No experience here.... It's just what I would do. Gotta kill the
creature somehow.

Re: Mold on Soft-top
the hot sun should kill the crud... cleaning it is another issue. The
stains should fade over time.
