You may figure the weight will nearly double, like these truck
rims:

BUT, you may crash into rocks and know with a hammer you will go home.
If gas mileage is important to you, keep the aluminum, as much of your
horse power will be absorb just keeping the weight turning. It's the
reason alloy wheels made transition from race car and commercial trucks
to your passenger car.

Well, I called Quadratec to inquire about the weight of the steel wheels
and they told me that each of the ARE D-window wheels weighs 21 lbs. I
just can't imagine that one of those Moabs weighs half of that. I
remember when I bought the Canyon rims for my old TJ they seemed to
weigh a good 30-40 lbs each when I got them via UPS. Does this sound crazy?
