The thieves I've grown up with just loosen the lug nuts on one pass
then on a later pass just pull the wheels and let the disks fall on the
ground. Ten seconds later they're gone. Several times I've found my lugs
loose, once my car on the ground. I haven't lost a wheel in twenty
years, partly due to the house motion detectors, and the car's alarm, a
couple of smashed rear seat windows, but they left the stereos.
