Re: "Lockers" in a Rubi .. ?
How about dual keys. You and your passenger can each hold one key and on
the count of "three", you both turn the keys. Of course, you need to write
a protocol for it and keep it locked up in your glove compartment in a
sealed envelope. The glove compartment key needs to be held by your Mom on
a chain around her neck... ;-)

Re: "Lockers" in a Rubi .. ?
I was thinking of the toggle with the red cover - looks impressive!
The practical choice would be the ones I used on some electronic gear
I built for installation in shops: large toggle switch where the
handle sits in a detent. You have to pull the lever out to move it.
They make those in all sorts of combinations: lock in one position
only, lock in all positions, lock only in some positions, etc. Opps!
over kill. Locker switch is only on-off where we had DROP-OFF-FIRE
positions...

Re: "Lockers" in a Rubi .. ?
Hi Dave:
Go to:
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm
and
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/four-wheel-drive.htm
Very good explanations of how differentials work and how 4-wheel drive
systems work. This should be MUST READING for a beginner.
Enjoy your Rubi!
