Location of temperature gauge sending unit and troubleshooting T gauge.

My temp gauge stopped working on my 92 YJ 4.0. Neddle is not moving at
all so I'm assuming a broken wire or a bad / disconnected sueding unit.
I looked around the block and I don't see anything it may be. Where is
the sending unit located and is there a ohm / resistance measurement I
can do to diagnose?
thanks

Probably the same as my 93ZJ.

Re: Location of temperature gauge sending unit and troubleshooting T gauge.

my 89 wrangler sending unit is on the intake manifold, in the back by the
fire wall. There is a Purple wire on mine leading to the sending unit. I'm
Not sure about the ohm resistence on the yj.

The following is for a cj-
With an ohmmeter check the resistance between the post and ground.

73 ohms - Cold Test when engine is slightly warm. A stone cold engine will
read a much higher resistance.
36 ohms - Beginning of Band
13 ohms - End of Band
9 ohms - Hot

Mike or someone had posted that CJ one for me. I'd be interested if
someone had a list of all the guages and what they should read for the
YJ's.
