Re: Limited slip differential oil
Do you tow or off-road?
Do you have a limited Slip?
Mild street only use - 80w-90 or 75w-90 dino or synthetic
Tow / Heavy Duty - 75w-140 synthetic
Synthetics flow and lubricate better, run cooler and quieter.
Some synthetics do not require or already include limited slip additive.
Dino juice requires additive only if you have a limited slip.
Synthetics cost about 4 times as much as dino.
Do you have a build sheet or know how to check for limited slip?

Re: Limited slip differential oil
Hi Billy Ray,
This is from my build sheet on an '02 WJ. Is this limited slip rear end?
DHAS Lock-Up Torque Converter, DHPS Selec-Trac Full Time 4WD System,
DJJS Dana 30/186MM Front Axle, DMEP 3.73 Axle Ratio, DRKP Dana 44/226MM
Rear Axle.
I know I put in more lines than you may have needed.
Thanks for your help and knowledge sharing in this newsgroup.

Re: Limited slip differential oil
It looks like you have a towing package which usually means you have limited
slip. With the front wheels blocked, remove the parking brake and put the
transmission in N. Jack up one rear tire just slightly off the ground. If
you can spin it, you don't have limited slip.
