Lift nightmare part II
91 XJ 4.0, D35. 3.5" RE Super-Ride kit w/full rear springs.
Got my brakes fixed today.. to the tune of $200. Ended up with all new steel
lines and a total brake job. Brakes are great now.
Last night, there was a slight vibe from the rear between 25-35mph. Today
while driving around looking for my car that was stolen, the vibe has
increased to 20-50mph, and is much worse. It's more the noise than the
feeling. I'm thinking rear U-joints? The pinion angle is stock, but the
driveshaft angle didn't look bad. Will new U-joints cure my problem?
I was thinking a T-case drop might be my best bet if the vibe continues
after new u-joints, but two of the four bolts holding the T-case up are
studs instead of bolts. :-( Failing the T-case drop, I'll need some shims to
tip the pinion up a bit. How many degrees for a 3.5" lift? I was thinking
2-3?

You need to see what way the new springs set the pinion. It might need
to tip down. It will need to tip down if the lift used longer shackles.
You are looking for the pinion to be parallel with the t-case output.
So if the T-case output is flat or | , then you want |------| . If
the t-case is tilted down /, then you want /------/ . If you use a
double cardan driveshaft, you want to point the rear pinion right at the
t-case.
I have seen kits for lowering XJ skid plates at one of the online 4x4

The pinion is looks to be at the stock angle of pretty much nill. The T-case
is the same. I'll check all the bolts and everything.

Checked all my fasteners... everything was tight as can be. The vibe is only
really noticeable between 25 and 35mph, after that it smoothes out. I have
stock shackles, the rear lift is just 3.5" lift springs.
Any input?
