Re: lift
They throw the geometry of the axles way off so you need to shim the
springs for a safe and vibration free ride. Longer shackles also allow
the spring to flex out more which can wear out an old set fast.
Shackle lifts make the front end alignment wrong and the driveshaft
angles wrong.
It is a lot of work to try and set the angles back right with shims.

I installed one....1.25". ( after I changed the springs)
I haven't noticed any vibration, everything seems ok. The other shackles
were in terrible shape so I thought change them. What should I be watching
for now as far as symptoms go?

I meant other than the symptoms you mentioned....I have no driveline
vibration at all right now, can there be bad things happening even with no
vibration?
