Re: Leaky windshield on a TJ
David,
Could be a dark cloud, but it only seem to follow me with TJ's. My CJ never
leaked a drop until it was about 20 years old! It alos got better gas
mileage with 130,000 miles and a V8/auto than my TJ has ever gotten. I had a
GMC 1/2 ton pickup that I drove for a quarter of a million miles that never
needed a major repair and never leaked a drop of oil in the driveway, so the
"dark cloud" sure wouldn't apply to either of those.
So far, My 2002 lemon law replacement TJ with 30,000 miles has been in the
shop 7 separate times just for OIL leaks...never mind the 6 or 7 times for
the leaky windshield and leaking body seam in the tub, the
intermittent/dead gas guage, the bad cam sensor, and the check engine light
that comes on about every 2 months. There are a bunch of others as
well...those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head. Seriously,
Some day I will sit down for several hours and type up a list of repairs (I
have dozens of work orders) for the two TJ Turd Jeeps I've owned. Anyone
considering buying a Wrangler ought to know how truly BAD the quality of the
TJ is.

Anyone
considering buying a Wrangler ought to know how truly BAD the quality of the
TJ is.

Re: Leaky windshield on a TJ
Obviously can't deny how bad yours is, or how bad Nathan's paint was, but I
have to say that the quality on my 99 TJ is really excellent. I've had a
leaking axle seal and a leak on the door seal (which fixed itself !!?!!),
and a bit of spray painting on the drivers mirror, and that is absolutely
it. No breakdowns and no failures to start. The paint quality is great
(black clearcoat), the engine is great etc.
