The Liberty does NOT get good mileage - 16-17 is good for them.
Better than my Rubicon, but still pretty yuck for a 6 banger.

CJ-5 came with V8, and heave duty everything. Why do you think it
needs to be up graded???? And unless you don't know how to use your
brakes, and treat the city streets like a road race slalom, then you
don't need disk brakes, notice like all commercial trucks use drums!
Maybe your jealously will allow you to look at a sixties AMC

I really don't believe you've ever driven off-road, at least deep
enough to find the Real Jeeps.

Yes but mu point that you missed was any CJ-5 in his price range is going to
need a lot more REPAIR, not UPGRADE, than something newer.
