Re: Jeep just died ( electrically) after 20 mile journey
Well you gave it the test that it needed. Good job there Harry. It is just
that in this group we have seen a lot of stuff electrical fixed by fixing
that ground.
Have fun,

Re: Jeep just died ( electrically) after 20 mile journey
You owe your mechanic at least a six-pak - sounds like he treated you
right. Your's sounds a little young to have a crapped out ground
strap. I guess that salt coated roads could do it but that's also the
kind of stuff you see with flood victims.

right. Your's sounds a little young to have a crapped out ground
strap. I guess that salt coated roads could do it but that's also the
kind of stuff you see with flood victims.

Re: Jeep just died ( electrically) after 20 mile journey
You owe your mechanic at least a six-pak - sounds like he treated you
right. Your's sounds a little young to have a crapped out ground
strap. I guess that salt coated roads could do it but that's also the

Will Honea did pass the time by typing:

Interesting. on my 93JZ the ground strap is actually a heavy
copper wire, not a strap. Not that they didn't change back.
Think I'll pull it off and check the ends for corrosion just to
be safe. I'm betting he's in the salt-belt where even plastic
rusts in the wintertime. :/
