see if the antenna mast unscrews and then inspect for white corrosion on the
screw threads if there none then see if the antenna base is gronded to the body
good and then inspect the connector under the right side dash under the kick
panel

Where do I check for the antenna ground to the body
?
The plug in on the back of the radio is fine, it connects tightly and the
contacts on the plug are okay too. There is a ground wire on the back of
the radio, which is connectly and appears to be fine. I tugged on it
lightly
and it is connected to the other end of the ground. Thanks. And thanks to
