I tried this guy's idea several years ago on my '93 I-6 Wrangler after
reading the appropriate section of the Jeep service manual describing how
the system works. It's kinda like what he says. BUT, not only does it
advance the timing, it also enriches the mixture. So, yes it does work. The
slight downside could be you'll use a little more gas. If you want to get
serious about it, you could use a variable resistor and set it up so you
could change it while your driving!
