Re: Ignition switch question.

Same with Fords, at least from '78 on. Somewhat irritating to have
the fan run even thought the switch is in the off position.

Re: Ignition switch question.

My 93 XJ does the same thing, if key in ACC. fan runs (on whichever speed
you have set).
Dumb thing is, for the cig. lighter to work you need either ACC or run
position selected, I prefer having that like the GMC truck, lighter always
hot.

Easy fix with a simple spdt switch. Got one in the ZJ. Actually two,
one in the back also. http://members.cox.net/wilsond/rearpower.html

battery<-----(fuse)---o
\o----->ciggy lighter
original feed<--------o

That way you can switch from constant on (charging a cell phone)
to off with the vehicle (radar detector) or somesuchthinglikethatthere.

I think Ralph Nader got your hot lighter - claimed it was a safety
hazard for kiddies. Now, with all the cell phones and other junk
they've gone back to a hot plug but they call it an "accessory plug"
since cigarettes and cigars are no longer PC.
