I forgot, it turns off only if you slide the vent/heat control to off.

I just remembered someone using acc and forgetting to kill the fan or
not knowing about it on low by default is better said, so the battery
died.

ignition switch is in the Accessory position.

Same with Fords, at least from '78 on. Somewhat irritating to have
the fan run even thought the switch is in the off position.
