Ignition switch question.
On my 91 YJ the ignition switch got jacked up while my mechanic was trying to
fix the turn signal/wiper/high beam switch. Well the new switch has a few
problems. Firstly, Is the heater blower supposed to be on when the key is in
the Acc. position.? Secondly, when the switch is in the Off position a slight
turn toward the Acc. postion will activate Acc. mode. There is no positive
detent. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I've never had a vehicle where the heater blower would operate when the
ignition switch was in the accessory position.

Your heater blower is an 'accessory' which is 'really' stupid in the
newer Jeeps and makes the 'acc' key setting totally useless. Turn it on
to listen to the radio and the blower turns on and kills the battery
fast. The newer blowers are always turned on low at least. You can
disable that by removing a switch on the vent control.
The fine tuning for the key position is down at the bottom of the
steering column. The ignition switch has a slot adjustment so the rod
from the key switch can be set right. Sounds like yours is maybe too
low?

All the newer Jeeps I have played with have the heater fan always on
low, you cannot shut it off. It turns on with the acc.
I bet if you check, your TJ has that too.

low, you cannot shut it off. It turns on with the acc.
