Identifying a lift
This may sound dumb but... how do I identify what kind of lift is on my
jeep? She's up 3-4 inches. Which parts do I look at to see what kind of lift is on? The body is not lifted at all (original bushings). Thanks. |
Re: Identifying a lift
It can be difficult to tell. Sometimes the color is an indication: red -
skyjacker, grey - rubicon, yellow - superlift... I wasn't real clear... How do I tell if I have a shackle lift versus a body

Re: Identifying a lift
Oh... well that's totally different. Again you have not identified your
vehicle. In basic terms: A body lift consists of longer body mount bushings. A shackle lift (YJ or CJ) consists of extended length shackles, stock length is about 3" bolt center to center. A suspension lift consists over arched leaf springs (YJ or CJ), spring over axle (SOA) conversion (YJ or CJ) or extended coil springs track bars, and control arms (TJ) Several other items not mentioned are involved in all lifts.
