Identifying a lift

This may sound dumb but... how do I identify what kind of lift is on my
jeep? She's up 3-4 inches. Which parts do I look at to see what kind of
lift is on? The body is not lifted at all (original bushings).
Thanks.

Re: Identifying a lift

It can be difficult to tell. Sometimes the color is an indication: red -
skyjacker, grey - rubicon, yellow - superlift...
What is it TJ, YJ, CJ or what?

Re: Identifying a lift

Oh... well that's totally different. Again you have not identified your
vehicle.

In basic terms:

A body lift consists of longer body mount bushings.

A shackle lift (YJ or CJ) consists of extended length shackles, stock length
is about 3" bolt center to center.

A suspension lift consists over arched leaf springs (YJ or CJ), spring over
axle (SOA) conversion (YJ or CJ) or extended coil springs track bars, and
control arms (TJ)

Several other items not mentioned are involved in all lifts.

Re: Identifying a lift

You STILL didn't give us the model designation or year.

Shackle lift: standard shackle is 5" center to center on the
bolts. More or a cross brace is modified.
Body lift: The bushings between the frame and the body are softer
rubber. An extra structural plastic piece inbetween the mount and
the rubber bushing is a mod. They come in 1", 2", and 3"
Spring lift: stock YJ springs are almost straight, stock CJ
springs have about an inch or two of arch. More is a replacement
unit. On a YJ, look at the front axle, the distance between the
top of the axle and the bottom of the rubber bumper mounted on
the frame is 1" to 2" on a stock vehicle.
