Re: Hitch for '89 YJ
Thanx. This is for very short distances only a few times a year. Namely
taking my boat about a half mile to the launch ramp for the season and
then back out at the end of the year.

Re: Hitch for '89 YJ
Get a new after market bumper with the 2" reciver built in. You can get
aftermarket front bumpers with the 2" reciver hitch also. By the way,
none of the bumpers or regular hitches will be labeled Class III, the
Wrangler is only rated for 1000 to 2000 pound trailers (depends on the
engine and tranny combo)

Re: Hitch for '89 YJ
Bill,
I had my factory towbar modified with a 2" receiver welded under it and
reinforced on each side. I pulled a 13 ft, 2000lb tent trailer all over
hell's creation. I still have the setup, but have since replaced it with an
integrated bumper, spare tire carrier. I have a 91 YJ, but the 89 should be
no different in the rear half. If you want this thing, I'll ship it to you
as long as you cover my cost to do so. Otherwise, it goes to the dump.
