Help finding a "ball type" antenna for '86 CJ
I, recently, posted in the group about an antenna but I needed to clarify
the subject.
I have an '86 Jeep CJ with a "ball type" antenna base. I need the mast
and can find no one who has one. Everyone has the upside-down triangle
base but the mast is different. The junk yards and locators have turned up
empty. I would like to use the original mounting and not drill the 3
holes. Thanks!

Not knowing where you live, but Galloways 4WD Center in New London, NC would
probably have one.

That's a really cheap auto parts store, one size fits all antenna,
so that's where to look.

Re: Help finding a "ball type" antenna for '86 CJ
I bought one of those cheap ones that look just like he is describing
for my CJ7. Then I found a stock triangle one and put that in. It
looks much nicer in my opinion.
My guess is the ball type are aftermarket ones put on when a Jeep came
with no radio. They just went to the local auto store and bought what
was on the shelf.
I have one out in my garage, but I stepped on the mast, so that wouldn't
be any good for the OP, only the base is good.
