Yep!
When it happened to me, the clacking was so loud that I thought for sure
I had broken something. The loud nasty noises will go away after
running for a while, but I have found that the ultimate solution , as
recommended by several others , is to replace the belt. You might want
to clean the pulleys before putting the new belt on to get rid of the
belt dressing though.

Yep!

Belt dressing is for flat belts. That's one of the great things about
v-belts, they get good traction all by themselves.
