Re: head gasket blown? how much??
One other thing to remember is that if you freshen the valves and the rings
are marginal, you're not going to like the results. It's common to see
increased blowby and oil consumption after doing a valve job on a very high
mileage engine.

I had the same work done on my 4.2 a year ago, included 2 new
valves, valve spring shims, the gasket set, new seals, and
surface grind the head for about $175 at my favorite local shop.
