Haynes Jeep Wrangler Repair Manual 1987-2003

I've got an '04 TJ I6. I don't intend to do any major repair work, but I
want a reference to help diagnose any problems I might have down the
road. This manual goes up to '03. How much will I be missing? Or will it
be "close enough for government work"?

My advice, Frank, is to go to the dealership and spend the money to buy a
Factory Service Manual. It will be an invaluable addition to your library
and your collection tools.

Re: Haynes Jeep Wrangler Repair Manual 1987-2003

I wouldn't buy anything that lumps the '87 to '95 in with the '97 and
newer. There are enough differences that you really should have seperate
manuals. I personally like the Chilton manuals for these models.

Re: Haynes Jeep Wrangler Repair Manual 1987-2003

You shouldn't need a doctor either.

I bought a Factory Shop Manual for my '81 CJ5 in '98, and it's the best
manual I've ever bought. I truly hate both Haynes and Chilton.

You shouldn't need a doctor either.

I bought a Factory Shop Manual for my '81 CJ5 in '98, and it's the best
manual I've ever bought. I truly hate both Haynes and Chilton.

Come on, the differences are subtle. Like, the difference in the leaf
springs on one vs. the coil springs on the other. How different is that?
Theye're nearly complete and total opposites, surely the publisher can
provide accurate documentation of both in one book. NOT.

They also lump the 4.2L and 4.0L into the same chapter and never label
which pictures are of which and which sections are for which.
I need to get the FSM cause I'm ready to use my Haynes manual for kindling.
