Grand Cherokee rollover transmission failure

Re: Grand Cherokee rollover transmission failure
Since there is no way to know how much fluid ran out, there is no way to
know how much you need to replace. I could guess and say "buy three
liters", but that would be just a guess. It's an educated guess. ;^)
The transfer case is a mechanical gear box, located immediately to the rear
of the transmission, that controls four wheel drive. Fluid could have run
out of it too. You have to crawl under the vehicle to check it. Depending
on how far you had this vehicle rolled over, the axles could have lost fluid
too. You should check the engine oil too. "All" fluid levels should be
checked, before the vehicle is driven any distance.

Re: Grand Cherokee rollover transmission failure
Most gas stations and other 24 hour stores stock transmission fluid. Do NOT
drive the Jeep while it is low on transmission fluid. Buy a few liters
(3-5), and slowly add fluid untill the level is full. Drive the Jeep for a
bit (maybe 1/2-1mile) and check it again.
