Got a good deal on MTR's

I hope 31's are big enough!

I hadn't been considering MTR's because of the price, figured I would go
with BFG AT/KO. Went to Just Jeeps in Toronto today and they had a "show
special" $20 off the sale price for each tire. Opting for the MTR's for the
same money as BFG's was a no brainer.

Goodyear MTR 31x10.5x15

$127.09 ea. ($173.59 CA)
4 for $508.39 ($694.36 CA)

Finally something goes my way on this build-up!
-Brian

I have a full size spare (GSA) I can use in a pinch - with selec-trac I can
use it in FT 4wd too. (no lockers)

How do you find "just-jeeps"?
I spied them off of the 400 and managed to swing by one day. Just picked up
a relay and tow hooks....don't know any other "jeep" / "offroad" garages...

Had any problems with them?

There use to be another really good jeep joint in the 400/hwy 7 area, but
last time I was there (2 years ago) the place was going down hill, More and
more other makes of 4wd's and even a couple riced Toyotas sitting in the
shop. Don't know what its like now though. Jeep Thrills is the name, use
to have a website not sure if that works anymore either. Other then that...
there's just jeeps as you know and another place which name slips my mind
right now, but its in the Burlington area.

:

I see their ad in the Tri-Ad newspaper every week. When they were moving to
the 400 location I happened to be in Toronto so I dropped in to check out
the open house.

This weekend I was at a retirement party in Toronto and after about 6 hours
of that I told my wife I was going to "slip out for a bit". They happened
to be having another open house and the MTR's were on sale.

: Had any problems with them?

The tires? Not yet other than some squeeking in the back of my van while I
drove home - they're not mounted yet.
The store? Service was a bit slow but once I had someones attention they
were very helpful and friendly. I've never had any work done there but they
must be pretty good - several members from the London area Jeep club go
there for parts and service so if they're willing to drive 2 hours, they
can't be too bad.

I just hope 31's are big enough, I ended up with 6" lift on my XJ... I know
they won't be rubbing!

There are two Jeep shops in that area and both have 'attitudes' some
days.

Hey some days they are great, but other days, well.... Let's just say
make sure you have your parts in your hands before paying for them and
get the damn receipt for any warranty work on parts you buy.

There is another shop off Warden near Eglinton called Ontario RV that
specializes in Jeeps. He has a full machine shop and so far has
impressed me.

Re: Got a good deal on MTR's

Your 31s should be plenty big, even though they might not look it under
6" of lift. Isn't the London area all flat and farmy anyway?

Get some good skids for the lower control arm brackets and the diffs
(ideally covering rear pinion too), maybe raise your rear shock mounts,
and then enjoy your gaping body clearance as you plough through the
tobacco fields.
