I just got a 0442 on my 01' WJ and it was the darned gas cap. $10.95
later from the dealer and my problem was fixed :)

Hi Marc,
And you will get the fault code, several more times, just unscrew
the cap and put it back on straight without the bind, and wait for the
engine to cycle from cold to normal operating temperature for the
warning light to go out.
