The last I had figured is he is out of gas....
When he blows back through the fuel line he doesn't hear bubbles with
the gas cap open, he has a clear blow.
Either that or the line on top of the tank has broken where he can't see it.
I sure would toss a gallon or two into the tank to see if someone
siphoned it or the gauge is wrong before trying to tackle dropping a
rusted on tank... Way to many bolts to have to grind off. Been there
done that 'too' many times....

Hi Mike,
Starting with the Buicks when the their fuel filter's bypass was shut
off, like when someone put a regular filter in place of the stock one, the
cam eccentric would be ground off to round, so as not pump the lever

Starting with the Buicks when the their fuel filter's bypass was shut
off, like when someone put a regular filter in place of the stock one, the
cam eccentric would be ground off to round, so as not pump the lever

good news! as of now at least. i once again put a hose from the pump
inlet to a jug of gas, as expected it cranked a few times and
eventually ran off the jug of gasoline. after running it to my
satisfaction i hooked everything up as normal. i cranked the engine
and it started, expecting it to just run off the gas still in the line
from the jug, i was surprised to see that it kept running. thinking
i was just underestimating the amount of gas left in the lines i ran
it for awhile, then checked the steel line to the tank and gas dripped
out as i unhooked it. so now it is getting gas fine from the tank.
anyone know what happened? is gonna happen again? also i now noticed a
liquid dripping from the tailpipe. its a clear and black liquid that
is not mixed evenly, the black stuff is kind of in the middle of the
clear stuff. anyone know what that is? how to fix it?

good news! as of now at least. i once again put a hose from the pump
inlet to a jug of gas, as expected it cranked a few times and
eventually ran off the jug of gasoline. after running it to my
satisfaction i hooked everything up as normal. i cranked the engine
and it started, expecting it to just run off the gas still in the line
from the jug, i was surprised to see that it kept running. thinking
i was just underestimating the amount of gas left in the lines i ran
it for awhile, then checked the steel line to the tank and gas dripped
out as i unhooked it. so now it is getting gas fine from the tank.
anyone know what happened? is gonna happen again? also i now noticed a
liquid dripping from the tailpipe. its a clear and black liquid that
is not mixed evenly, the black stuff is kind of in the middle of the
clear stuff. anyone know what that is? how to fix it?

The liquid is probably just condensation mixed with some carbon deposits
from the exhaust. This is normal.
