In the west we typically use natural gas or propane for winter heat. The
propane usually is cheaper than gasoline, but as many have pointed out it
all comes from the same well. In San Diego however, they usually turn on
the heat when it gets down to 65º. ;^)

Sure, worldwide oil prices dropped just because the US is having an
election... GWB pulled that lever in the Oval Office and at his command
all the oil suppling countries... OPEC, Iran, Venezuela, Mexico, Russia,
ect, all dropped their oil prices to help the Republican Party in the
fall election.
Sorry, but I find that more than just a bit difficult to believe.
