frame question.

My '76 CJ-7 is going to get a different frame. There is a large boneyard
nearby that I am going to visit tomorrow morning. I want to buy a frame for
my '76 if they have anything that can be salvaged. My question, what year
frame will work with my current setup. It has the 360 from a wagoneer and
the quadratrac. I want to get one with the springs intact so I can (sorry
guys) remove the lift. My privates cannot handle the bumpy roads around
here with the tight, lifted suspension.

Chip

(this must be the right place for this one)

Re: frame question.

The springs could be part of your problem, but my guess is you have the
wrong shocks.

You can get a brand new frame, and would probably be much happier in the
long run.

Re: frame question.

I can stand on the front bumper and jump up and down on it and the front of
the jeep barely moves. I weigh about 200 pounds. It has a 6" lift on it. I
think, the amount of bounce on a bumpy road is unreal.
