Ford axle ? for Bill, or anyone
Is a ford 9" a ford 9" when it comes to axle seals, or are they different
for years and aplication, daughter's 9" in her YJ is out of, I beleive, a 63
Torino, axle seal is leaking quite bad, but as I'm not completely sure what
vehicle it is out of, I just wondered if they are all the same.

Hi Greg,
Many different sizes of axles, bearings, and seals. The Torino
would be a good place to start. Third member identification:
http://web.archive.org/web/200303240...m/ninecase.htm
But more than likely the cut axles will be 31 or 33 spline, but with the
Torino type passenger car single roller bearing, like mine:
http://www.----------.com/9axle.jpg with stock seal.

Re: Ford axle ? for Bill, or anyone
Axles are full length, not cut, 31 spline, third member is out of 79
econoline so that doesn't help us much, on curries site,
http://www.currieenterprises.com/ces...re.aspx?id=938 , I find 4
axle seals, large bearing, small bearing, large tapered bearing and 45mm
bearing, the 45mm is for 35-40 spline so not that, but I can't remeber if
her's were tappered or not, or if I would know a tapered one if I saw it, it
did look like your pic though.
