Nope! This is a common problem on TJs with air conditioning. The A/C
moisture drain is on the firewall and it faces directly forward into
the wind. Not a problem at low speeds, but at highway speed for
extended periods the wind pressure pushes the water back along the
firewall and it runs into the passenger compartment.

The fix is easy. Locate the a/c drain and run a couple feet of
plastic tubing to it so it drains downward or toward the rear of the
vehicle rather than forward.

Glad you could rule that out for me Joshua - I can feel it coming through
the seals, but now you have told me better I'll go and look at my absent
air con unit...

It can also come out the cowl drain if its blocked, and some have reported
that the windshield hinge seal can leak too.

Glad you could rule that out for me Joshua - I can feel it coming through
the seals, but now you have told me better I'll go and look at my absent
air con unit...

The "roll bar" leak in the footwell behind the passenger seat is actually
from a body seam, it only runs out under the roll bar because that is the
only way for the water to escape. I know, I had this problem on my 2002. If
it sat in the rain...no prob, but it you drove down a wet road, the rear
floor would fill up with muddy water. The water comes from a seam in the
wheelwel area. DO NOT let whoever fixes it seal around the bottom of the
roll bar. If you do that, the water will pool inside the body and rust it
out after a while. Best way to tell where water is getting into your Jeep is
to pull all the carpet and the rear seat, pick a good rainy day, bring a
flashlight, and get someone else to drive while you look for leaks. You
probably have more than one.

Shoot, Josh, I thought you were going to recommend putting StopLeak into
the A/C unit.

A/C was definitely the problem on my TJ and the solution I posted
fixed it.

Is it possible, do you think, that there could occasionally be an
instance when there is more than one cause for a similar kind of
problem? And maybe, just maybe, your solution might not always be the
right one in every situation? And, on even rarer occasions, someone
else might have a valid point to make? Scary thought, I know, but just
contemplate the possibilities.
